The Rise and Fall of Emsworth Oysters

Illustrated talk by John Tweddell

100 years ago Emsworth was at the centre of an oyster sales boom. At its peak, the industry provided half the jobs in the town. Following two deaths, sales were banned and many townsfolk lost their jobs.
Find out more about this boom and bust trade by coming to an illustrated talk.

Tickets on the Emsworth Community Centre door are £2, or £1 for EMHT members.
