2009 Dates 19 February 2009 - 7.30 p.m. The Rise and Fall of Emsworth Oysters Illustrated talk by John Tweddell 100 years ago Emsworth was at the centre of an
oyster sales boom. At its peak, the industry provided half the jobs
in the town. Following two deaths, sales were banned and many
townsfolk lost their jobs.
